Thank you. I took a class (via correspondence on cassette tape) on Ethics from Dr. Stewart Custer. I’ve loaned my notes to someone, but I think he taught a hierarchical view.
I just read this morning, right after listening this episode, in Exodus 3:18 that God tells Moses to tell Pharaoh that he is supposed to let them go on a three day trip into the wilderness. I thought, “That’s not truthful? Is it? Since God really wants to take them into the promised land and never bring them back to Egypt.” God appears to be telling Moses to be dishonest. Any thoughts?
Hi John, I ended up missing Dr. Custer's class, though my wife took it.
On the Lord's command to ask for three days in the wilderness to worship, I would say that it was a sincere offer, and that if Pharaoh had granted it, a subsequent request to leave entirely would have come once they got back.

Thanks! That makes sense. I appreciate it.
