Our podcast continues with discussion of articles in the January/February edition of FrontLine which had the theme, "Redeeming the Culture?"
The article we are discussing today is called, "The Church and Cultural Engagement" with author Michael Carlyle. He is the Scripture engagement manager for Bibles International.
We are all aware how our culture is swiftly departing from old senses of morality and traditional values. Some Christians think the church must address the decay of culture through political activism of some kind. Others have questions. What is our role as Christians in our culture? What has God called us to do?
A key thought in answering this question has to do with the nature of our Lord's kingdom. We look to Scripture to guide us. In its pages we see that the Kingdom has not yet come, and the Church has a very specific mission. This article calls us to focus on the biblical mission of the church today.
